I've gotten back into the flickr apis sufficiently to be able to call
flickr.photos.getWithGeoData and get the titles (what I use for
filename references back to kimdaba) and the latitude/longitude values
(getting the next "page" of results appears broken, though, still
looking at that.) That leads me to a question on the kphotoalbum
side: anyone out there actually storing lat/long in kphotoalbum, and
how are you doing it? Adding geo:x,y tags in the Location category?
Adding another category? Or do later versions have an easier way to
add (or at least preserve in the XML) a new data type?

(turns out I have over 600 mapped pictures, so this will at least make
an interesting demo...)
