I've just pushed some changes that make this easier.

You can now just modify StateMachineViewerWidget::m_font

Nope, that's unrelated.

Can't really comment on the "rewrite" part -- that's something we've not yet 
decided.

Fair enough. But I guess that a small view-settings dialog (e.g. for setting 
the font used in the scene) could easily be re-used, so nothing would be lost.

And on the StateMachineViewerWidget-side, that's more or less a question of 
setting a property.
